Goalfix’s MODEL Methodology follows 5 simple steps.
1. Map it out
During this stage, we collaborate with clients to gain a deep understanding of the business case, as well as specifying exactly what the model is required to do and achieve.
This is done once we have interpreted your requirements and distilled all the information you need into an agreed and comprehensive model specification.
Fundamental drivers of a model can be varied. Knowing what to include is the result of our combined experience, expertise and knowledge.
3. Design & Build
We begin the stage by designing the model’s structure, sequence, inputs and outputs, so as to ensure flexibility, transparency and ease of use.
Once we have this in place, we build the model – determining model sheets, schedules, formulas, financial statements and executive summary. Also known as spreadsheet engineering, this is where we use all the appropriate Excel functions and techniques developed by us.
4. Evaluate & Interrogate
To ensure the integrity and accuracy of the model, we check, test and assess the model’s output for reasonability and rationality. In other words, we interrogate and ensure that the model delivers the insights and intelligence it’s designed to do.
5. Leverage & Learn
In the final stage, we ensure the model recipients understand and can use the model effectively. In addition to providing comprehensive model documentation including control sheet, user guide, easy navigation and flow chart, we also provide practical hands-on training to ensure a smooth handover.
