I recently came across an article by Professor Neeraj Amarnani, Dean (Academics) at Goa Institute of Management (GIM)
According to Professor Amarnani, “GIM seeks to develop responsible and agile leaders at the forefront of cutting-edge business practices. It strives to ensure that its programs help equip students with the contemporary and emerging skillsets per industry requirements and groom them to be adept managers.”
“It attempts to ensure that responsible leaders emerge based on GIM’s values on ethics and responsibility”.
The article caused me to consider what role Goalfix could play in the context of nurturing future entrepreneurs and finance professionals.
As some people will know Goalfix is a specialist corporate financial consultancy. Our core competence relates to building bespoke financial models for a variety of clients and in the context of nurturing, presenting financial modelling training courses.
Like Professor Amarnani, we too have been active in this area, both locally and internationally, for more than 25 years and have had the privilege of training more that 5000 aspiring financial modellers worldwide.
So, being realistic, what can we do to assist in the education and growth of young South Africans?
How can we empower them – in their personal capacities – to lead more successful, happier, more financially secure lives?
Assist them to create successful careers, financial success and a future freedom from poverty?
I suppose the reality is that practically we can only share our knowledge, our skills, our expertise in such a manner that it will benefit both the individuals and their communities.
Our speciality is knowledge – more specifically financial knowledge pertaining to business and projects – to planning and evaluation business opportunities – so, bearing in mind that many people have no real interest in finance, or little or no education about finance, one could presume that our contribution could be quite limited.
But this doesn’t mean that what we do is irrelevant – or superfluous!
Whilst we have a completely untenable (disastrous) rate of unemployment which has the effect of forcing people into entrepreneurial activities, the truth is the many aspiring entrepreneurs are doomed to fail – not because the fundamental business concept is flawed- but due to a meaningful or complete lack of financial planning.
Let’s be frank – financial planning is not everyone’s cup of tea!
Enter Goalfix! We can help!
Financial planning – and more specifically financial modelling is what we do!
As the advert says, “it’s not one of the things we do, it’s the only thing we do”
–
In a nutshell, at Goalfix, we want to assist would be entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to reality! – by providing a simple and efficient financial planning tool!
And for those persons who are involved in company finance, we want to assist them to develop their financial competence even further –to create a new competence – expand their knowledge and expand their value!
